About In His Presence Christian Counseling
Mission Statement: In His Presence Christian Counseling will endeavor to help people improve the
quality of their lives through an enhanced relationship with God. Through reliance upon prayer,
counseling, and scripture, In His Presence Christian Counseling will move people closer toward being
in the center of God’s Will. As an academic institution, In His Presence Christian Counseling will
support students as they pursue licensure and/or degrees.
Vision Statement: It is the vision of In His Presence Christian Counseling to help people to be in right
relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, in accordance with Biblical principles. This can be achieved
through dissemination of written materials, trainings, and counseling sessions.
Values Statement: The following core values are the basis from which In His Presence Christian
Counseling will operate:
1. Prayer – prayer will be the primary device used to help clients and students.
2. The Bible – the Word of God will be the basis for all decisions made regarding this corporation.
3. Holy Spirit – this corporation will be governed with the understanding that all credit and power of
success will be attributed through the in-dwelling of God’s Holy Spirit.
Objectives: The following objectives are the basis from which In His Presence Christian Counseling
will judge its success:
1. To empower people to learn to trust in God in accordance with Biblical principles.
2. To assist people to improve the quality of their relationship with others through a Biblically-based
relationship with God.
3. To educate people to improve the quality of their lives in their work places through learning how to
rely on Biblically-based techniques, including prayer and devotional readings.
Philosophy: In His Presence Christian Counseling is founded upon Philippians 4:13 “I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me.” (NKJV)
Background: Licensed in 2006, Dr. Emily Harrison has counseled over 30 people while in part-time
practice. Dr. Harrison is a clinical supervisor and Nationally Board Certified as a Licensed Christian
Counselor through the N.C.C.A. Her Ph.D. was conferred upon her through Colorado Theological
Seminary in December, 2007. Additionally, Dr. Harrison has a Master's degree in Education through
the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Before she became a licensed Christian Counselor, Dr.
Harrison taught children and adults for over ten years in both private and public school settings. A
licensed minister, it is Dr. Harrison's desire to help people to be in the center of God's Will for their
lives. To God be the glory for the great things He has done!
|Dr. Harrison uses Temperament Therapy to help her clients to understand
themselves better and to help them to understand how God created them.
Through the Arno Profile Systems (A.P.S.) Reports, Dr. Harrison is able to
help her clients to see progress in as few as two sessions!
